Now in its 16th year, the NewSong Music Performance & Songwriting Competition is one of the most esteemed and well respected showcases of emerging performers and songwriters in North America.
It offers meaningful, presitigious and high profile performance and recording opportunities, which are intended to assist truly exceptional and deserving artists to be recognized for their unique talents. The NewSong program also fosters a valuable community among other recognized talent each year.
This year’s grand prize winner – who will be selected by a panel of music industry judges from ten finalists who will perform in a live performance showcase and competition at the esteemed Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on Thursday, November 30, 2017 – will receive:
A six-song EP, recorded and mixed at Asheville, NC’s Echo Mountain Recording Studios and released on the NewSong Recordings label;

An exclusive discounted studio and lodging package from Echo Mountain Recording Studios in beautiful Asheville, NC.
Finalists and other contest standouts will also be invited to participate in future NewSong Music productions in various locations throughout the country, and will be candidates for film and television placement opportunities and album or EP releases on the NewSong Recordings label. The contest is open to all genres of music, although songs must include a vocal with lyrics to be considered to advance.
